From Spins to Birds to Traders: Model Adaptation in the Study of Critical Behavior (MACBeh)

MACBeh is an interdisciplinary project dedicated to exploring criticality in physical, biological and social sciences. Our main goal is to lay the foundations for the use of the physics of criticality in biological and social sciences.

Research Focus

In order to achieve our goals, we will confront the philosophical literature on model transfer, scientific explanation and causation with a detailed examination of several models of criticality in physical, biological and social sciences.
